Hi guys!
For the sake of forum tradition, let's all introduce ourselves, and share what our dance and music backgrounds are. Hopefully we'll start small and local, but eventually I'd love to see this site become a resource for a wider community, so let's set a precedent now.
I'm Matt (RokedBeGeshem = Dancing in the Rain).
I've been doing Israeli folk dance for over 12 years now, and dabbling in other styles like Greek folk dance, ballroom, dabke, and for almost a year now, Tribal belly dance.
I play darbuka (and zills), and ocarina (an Italian clay woodwind based on Aztec and Peruvian flutes, popular in modern Asia). I'm also been known to play around with western concert flute, bawu, and hulusi (two reeded woodwinds from Yunan province in southern China).
